Dr Joseph Sgroi MBBS (Monash) FRANZCOG Joseph is an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Epworth Freemasons providing care to patients in the areas of Obstetrics, Gynaecology, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, Endometriosis, Fertility Preservation and IVF. Graduating from medicine at Monash University in 1998 (MBBS), he then went on to complete 3 years of physician training at The Alfred Hospital. During this time Joseph and his wife had their first child. This life changing, led Joseph to pursue a career specialising in obstetrics and gynaecology. After obtaining a Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Joseph undertook formal training at The Royal Women’s Hospital in Obstetrics, Gynaecology and a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Fertility Preservation. Joseph has served as a Director of The Australian Medical Association (AMA) and a medical representative on multiple Commonwealth Government Advisory Committees. In addition he has sought to improve the education and training of junior doctors as Chair of the Federal AMA Council for Doctors in Training and was appointed to The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) Training and Assessment Committee. Joseph continues to mentor future generations of doctors in his role as Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at The Royal Women’s Hospital and The University of Melbourne. Joseph is continually updating his knowledge with evidenced based medical research that improves outcomes for his patients.
